Guest lecture: Ryue Nishizawa, SANAA and Office of Ryue Nishizawa, TokyoFriday 21th September 17.00 in A2Welcome to a guest lecture with the award-winning architect Ryue Nishizawa from Japan!Founded in 1995 by architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, SANAA is world-renowned for its white, light buildings, probably grounded in architects’ Japanese cultural origins. Despite the whiteness, their architecture is far from modernist. The layered translucence and unclear boundaries between spaces demonstrate constant incorporation of ambiguity and doubt in a refreshing and playful way. In their projects, the inventive properties of materials, constructions and light are taken to a new architectonic level.
Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa won the Pritzker Prize in 2010.
